[Emergency supplies you want to prepare for disaster prevention]

You never know when disasters such as typhoons and earthquakes will strike. It is important to have a stock of supplies for disaster preparedness in case of an emergency. I tried to summarize the regular supplies for disaster prevention, mainly related to pharmaceuticals.
Regular medicines and first aid items that you should prepare at home

● Household medicine

Cold medicine
Antipyretic analgesics
Vitamins
Gastrointestinal medicine
Disinfectant, anti-suppuration wound medicine
Gargle
Eye drops

● First-aid supplies (example)

Thermometer (mercury thermometer is fragile, so a digital thermometer is better)
Bandage

Gauze

Mask
First-aid adhesive plaster

Spare glasses and reading glasses
In the event of a disaster, it will be difficult to take care of your contact lenses. If you wear contact lenses, bring a spare pair of glasses.

*Pharmaceutical products have expiration dates. Check it from time to time and replace it with a new one regularly.

・Cold medicine
When you are forced to evacuate due to a disaster, you may catch a cold due to fatigue and cold. It is better to prepare a general cold medicine rather than one that is effective for a specific symptom. Children also take different doses of medicine than adults. Families with children should prepare cold medicines for children such as granules, syrups, and suppositories.

・Vitamins
Nutrition tends to be biased, so let's prepare a multivitamin .

·Gastrointestinal drug
In the event of a disaster, meals become irregular and one-sided. In addition, it may cause mental stress, which may cause gastrointestinal problems such as nausea, diarrhea, and indigestion. It's a good idea to have medicine to help your stomach and intestines and an anti-diarrheal medicine .

・Disinfectant, anti-suppuration wound medicine

There are various types of disinfectants, such as ointment, spray type, and gauze impregnated with chemical solution. The spray type can also be used to wash away dirt from wounds. Also, prepare an anti-suppuration agent that contains antibiotics to match the disinfectant .

・Mouthwash, eye drops
Dust and other things can cause inflammation in the throat, so prepare a gargle to reduce inflammation.

Also, dust can easily get into your eyes, so prepare eye drops that are less irritating. If you are prone to conjunctivitis, don't forget to bring antibacterial eye drops.

★If you have a chronic disease and are receiving medicine from the hospital
In the event of a sudden disaster, you may receive treatment at a different medical institution or medical first aid station. At that time, if you have a medicine notebook at hand, it will be easier to receive treatment as usual. However, in case you don't have your medicine notebook at hand , write down the names and amounts of the medicines you normally take, how to take them, etc., and keep them in a first-aid kit.
