Description
● Eucommia leaves are distributed along the middle reaches of the Yangtze River in central and southern China. Currently, they rarely grow naturally, and they are cultivated in various parts of China. It was introduced to Japan in 1918 and is currently being cultivated in Nagano Prefecture. When the leaves, branches, and bark of the stem are folded, a silvery white thread is produced, which is called gutta percha. Gutta-percha is originally obtained from gutta-percha trees, which are distributed in tropical regions such as Sumatra and Borneo.
